Indonesia is a country that truly captured both of us and kept drawing us back. Roxy first travelled there in 2017, spending four weeks exploring, and that experience never really left her. Between 2023 and 2025, we spent almost six months there, returning again and again and slowly discovering different islands, from Sumatra to Java, Bali, Lombok, and Sumbawa, travelling across Flores and finding places that still feel untouched. What makes Indonesia so special to us is its incredible diversity. Sumatra felt wild and unforgettable with its unique wildlife, while Java stood out with its powerful nature and volcanoes. Bali has a culture and energy that is hard to describe, and the beaches across the country are just as varied as everything else. Flores felt especially real and authentic, a place that stayed with us in a different way. Every island feels like its own world, and that’s what makes Indonesia so special to us.
