WHY WE LOVE INDOCHINA

There’s something deeply captivating about Indochina, a region where every border feels like a soft transition rather than a divide. From the misty mountains of northern Vietnam to the golden temples of Cambodia, the gentle rhythms of Laos, and the vibrant spirit of Thailand, each country carries its own heartbeat, yet they all blend together in harmony.

What fascinates us most is how these nations, though shaped by shared roots, have evolved at their own rhythm. Their histories intertwine, marked by ancient kingdoms, colonial footprints, and a remarkable resilience, yet et each culture expresses its identity in a unique way. You can feel the differences in the food, the architecture, the rituals, and still sense an invisible thread connecting them all.

From watching the sun rise behind the majestic towers of Angkor Wat to offering alms to monks in the golden morning light of Luang Prabang, Indochina reminds us how tradition and spirituality remain at the heart of everyday life. It’s a region that speaks softly but deeply, through its people, its stories, and the quiet beauty that lingers long after you’ve left.

Day 1-5
Siem Reap - Angkor Temples & Khmer Culture

Arrive in Cambodia and settle into your luxury resort in Siem Reap.

After the long journey, your first day is left free, the perfect chance to relax by the pool, enjoy the spa, or simply wander into town for a first taste of Khmer cuisine and Siem Reap’s café culture. Your personal Travel Guide Book will give you some inspiration where to spend your free time.

The following two days take you deep into the world of Angkor. With your private guide, explore the grandeur of Angkor Wat, the mysterious faces of Bayon, and the jungle-covered Ta Prohm.

In between temple visits, return to your resort for moments of calm, or browse local boutiques and markets in town.

Evenings can be spent savoring Cambodian dishes or strolling through the lively night scene.

Day 5-8
Luang Prabang - UNESCO Charm & Natural Wonders

Fly north to Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage, city of golden temples and French colonial villas. Stroll through tranquil streets, climb Mount Phousi at sunset, and let the night market draw you in with its colors and scents. With the Travel Guide Book in hand, it’s easy to find hidden courtyards, quiet cafés, and riverside corners for your own discoveries.

One full day is dedicated to a guided adventure: cruise along the Mekong to sacred caves filled with thousands of Buddha figures, then continue to turquoise waterfalls where you can swim or simply admire the scenery.

Day 8-11
Chiang Mai - Northern Thailand’s Spirit

Continue to Chiang Mai, where mountains frame the old town and temple spires rise above ancient walls. A full-day guided tour takes you into the countryside: meet elephants in an ethical sanctuary, float downriver on a bamboo raft, and cool off at a jungle waterfall.

Wander through Chiang Mai’s spiritual Old Town at your own pace, soaking in its unique charm. The day is completely yours to enjoy – take part in a cooking class, explore temples by tuk-tuk, or shop for handicrafts at the bustling night bazaar.

Day 11-14
Bangkok -  Culture and Temples

Start your journey in Bangkok, Thailand’s vibrant capital. With your private guide, explore glittering temples, bustling markets, and hidden lanes alive with local culture, discovering the city’s unique blend of ancient tradition and modern energy.

As the sun begins to set, your guide will pick you up for an unforgettable shared tuk tuk food tour. Choose between an afternoon journey savoring Michelin-starred delights or an evening adventure exploring hidden local gems. Both take place in small groups, cruising through Bangkok’s vibrant streets and lively markets.

Taste fragrant curries, smoky grilled skewers, and irresistible sweet treats, all while soaking in the city’s magical blend of sights, sounds, and flavors.

Spend a free day creating your own rhythm. Whether you wish to unwind by the pool, dive into Bangkok’s café scene, or follow the handpicked tips in your Travel Guide Book, the city is yours to explore at leisure. When it’s time to leave, your private transfer will take you to the Airport.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  • INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT:

International flights can be arranged upon request, subject to availability. A 10% service fee will apply to cover handling and booking costs.

  • VISA:

Visa requirements differ depending on your nationality. We strongly recommend verifying the latest entry regulations with official immigration authorities before you travel. Roxy Travel Plan can provide general guidance or advice upon request; however, we cannot take responsibility for visa approvals, rejections, or changes in immigration policies.

  • CASH/ATM:

Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos remain largely cash-based destinations, especially in local markets, small shops, and street food stalls. In Cambodia, the U.S. dollar is the most commonly used currency in tourist areas such as Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville — menus often display prices in dollars, and most ATMs dispense USD, though small change is often given in Cambodian Riel.

In Thailand, credit cards are widely accepted in major hotels, restaurants, and shopping malls, but cash is still preferred for everyday transactions and local experiences. In Laos, cash is essential almost everywhere, as card payments are less common outside high-end hotels or restaurants in Vientiane and Luang Prabang. Across all three countries, ATMs are easy to find in cities and tourist areas, making it convenient to withdraw local currency (or USD in Cambodia) when needed.

  • GUIDED TOURS:

Guided tours are typically conducted on a shared basis, meaning other travelers may join the same experience. This allows you to meet other guests and share the activity as part of a small group.

If a private tour is included or available as an upgrade, it will be clearly indicated in your itinerary or can be arranged upon request (subject to availability and additional cost).

  • CANCELLATION, REFUNDS & TRAVEL INSURANCE:

Once bookings have been confirmed, all cancellations will follow the terms and conditions of our local suppliers and service providers. Please note that many partners require advance payments to secure availability, and their refund policies may vary. We will always do our best to recover any refundable amounts wherever possible, but some services may be fully non-refundable depending on supplier conditions.

We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellations, medical emergencies, and unexpected changes. This ensures peace of mind and financial protection in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

TRAVEL GUIDE BOOK

You’ll receive a comprehensive Travel Guide Book in PDF format with all your confirmed bookings, key travel information, and a personalized day-by-day itinerary designed specifically for you.

The guide also includes practical tips to help your trip go smoothly, along with must-see locations, local eateries, hand-picked café recommendations we have personally tried and loved.

We will even connect you with reliable local taxi drivers, guides, and companies we have met during our own travels and fully trust.

WEATHER

The best time to visit Angkor Wat, Luang Prabang, Chiang Mai, and Bangkok is from November to March, when the weather is generally dry, sunny, and pleasant across the region. During these months, you can expect comfortable temperatures, lower humidity, and clear skies, perfect for sightseeing, exploring temples, and enjoying outdoor activities.

From April to October, the region experiences its rainy season, with occasional heavy showers, especially in Siem Reap, Luang Prabang, and Chiang Mai. However, rain often comes in short bursts followed by sunshine, so travel remains enjoyable, with fewer crowds and lush green landscapes adding to the scenery.

INTERNET & SIM CARDS

SIM cards are available almost everywhere, including directly at the airport upon arrival.

If you prefer not to buy a physical SIM card, I recommend using an eSIM from Airalo you’ll find more detailed information about this option in my Travel Guide Book including a 10% discount on their services.
