WHY WE LOVE VIETNAM

Vietnam quickly became one of the countries that touched us the most. We spent four months traveling across it, from the misty mountains of the north to the lush deltas of the south, and were constantly amazed by its beauty and contrasts.

What moved us deeply is the spirit of the people, their warmth, resilience, and genuine smiles that shine despite a history marked by hardship. You can feel the country’s story everywhere, from ancient streets scarred by time to the pride of a nation that has rebuilt itself with strength and grace.

With this short Signature Cruise Tour, experience the breathtaking beauty of Halong Bay aboard The Violet, a luxurious Heritage Line vessel that perfectly combines classic elegance with modern comfort. As you drift through emerald waters scattered with towering limestone karsts and secluded islands, you’ll be enveloped by the bay’s serene and timeless atmosphere.

The Violet offers refined dining experiences, impeccable service, and thoughtfully designed spaces that invite both relaxation and quiet contemplation.

We offer several options on this tour. Below are the itineraries for each options:

OPTION 1: 2D/1N Cruise: The Dragon Passage

Mysterious waters and myriads of islets and limestone formations create the spectacular seascapes of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Halong, which means “descending dragon”, refers to legendary creatures sent down from the heavens to guard against invaders approaching from the sea. To protect the Vietnamese, the dragons belched out clusters of jewels to create an impenetrable barrier, which has since turned into over 2,000 beautiful limestone islets today dotting the bay.
This classic two-day/one-night cruise named “The Dragon Passage” along the “ancient playground of dragons” offers memorable sights and sounds captured in an unforgettable journey through thousands of limestone formations.

Vietnam remains largely a cash-based destination, especially in local restaurants, markets, and small shops. ATMs are widely available in cities and towns, making it easy to withdraw local currency when needed.

WEATHER

The best time to visit North Vietnam is from October to April, when the weather is generally cooler, drier, and more comfortable. During these months, skies are clearer, making it ideal for sightseeing, cruises, and outdoor adventures.

From October to December, you’ll enjoy crisp air and beautiful autumn colors in the mountains, while March to April brings mild temperatures and blooming landscapes — perfect for photography and trekking.

The summer months (May to September) are hot, humid, and rainy, especially in July and August when tropical downpours are common. However, the countryside is lush and green, which can be appealing for travelers who don’t mind occasional rain.

INTERNET & SIM CARDS

SIM cards are available almost everywhere, including directly at the airport upon arrival.

If you prefer not to buy a physical SIM card, I recommend using an eSIM from Airalo you’ll find more detailed information about this option in my Travel Guide Book including a 10% discount on their services.
