━━ THE JOURNEY
Why this country left a lasting impression on us

New Zealand is one of those rare places that feels both wild and deeply welcoming at the same time. It’s a country where dramatic landscapes are never far away — snow-capped mountains, lush rainforests, rugged coastlines, and crystal-clear lakes all exist within just a few hours of each other.
What makes it even more special for us is that Stephan spent four years living here, exploring the islands far beyond the typical routes. From remote hiking trails and hidden beaches to small local communities, he has experienced New Zealand not just as a visitor, but as a temporary home.
This deep connection allows us to design journeys that go beyond the obvious. Yes, you’ll see iconic places like Rotorua, Milford Sound and the Southern Alps, but also the quiet corners, scenic backroads, and authentic experiences that most travelers miss.
New Zealand is also a paradise for outdoor lovers. Whether it’s hiking through alpine landscapes, kayaking along untouched coastlines, or simply enjoying the silence of nature, every day feels like an adventure.
But beyond the scenery, it’s the feeling that makes New Zealand unforgettable, a sense of freedom, space, and calm that’s hard to put into words.
For Stephan, New Zealand never really felt like a destination, it felt like home. And that’s exactly the feeling we want to share with you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT:
International flights can be arranged upon request, subject to availability. A 10% service fee will apply to cover handling and booking costs.
VISA:
Visa requirements differ depending on your nationality. We strongly recommend verifying the latest entry regulations with official immigration authorities before you travel.
CASH/ATM:
ATMs are widely available across New Zealand, particularly in main towns and tourist destinations such as Auckland, Rotorua, Queenstown, Wellington, and Christchurch. Most ATMs accept international cards, including Visa and Mastercard, and are generally reliable.
However, in more remote areas, such as rural regions, smaller towns, or when exploring nature-focused destinations like parts of the West Coast, Tongariro National Park, or the Coromandel Peninsula, ATM access can be more limited. During road trips, hiking excursions, or visits to less-developed areas, it is advisable to carry some cash.
The New Zealand dollar (NZD) is used throughout the country. While card payments are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and most businesses, smaller vendors, local cafés, farmers’ markets, and some activity providers may prefer or only accept cash.
For convenience and security, it is recommended to withdraw money from ATMs located at major banks, airports, or within shopping centres.
GUIDED TOURS:
Guided tours are typically conducted on a shared basis, meaning other travelers may join the same experience. This allows you to meet other guests and share the activity as part of a small group.
If a private tour is included or available as an upgrade, it will be clearly indicated in your itinerary or can be arranged upon request (subject to availability and additional cost).
CANCELLATION, REFUNDS & TRAVEL INSURANCE:
Once bookings have been confirmed, all cancellations will follow the terms and conditions of our local suppliers and service providers. Please note that many partners require advance payments to secure availability, and their refund policies may vary. We will always do our best to recover any refundable amounts wherever possible, but some services may be fully non-refundable depending on supplier conditions.
We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellations, medical emergencies, and unexpected changes. This ensures peace of mind and financial protection in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
TRAVEL GUIDE BOOK
You’ll receive a comprehensive Travel Guide Book in PDF format with all your confirmed bookings, key travel information, and a personalized day-by-day itinerary designed specifically for you.
The guide also includes practical tips to help your trip go smoothly, along with must-see locations, local eateries, hand-picked café recommendations we have personally tried and loved.
We will even connect you with reliable local taxi drivers, guides, and companies we have met during our own travels and fully trust.
WEATHER
New Zealand enjoys a temperate climate with four distinct seasons, though weather conditions can vary significantly between regions and even within the same day. The North Island tends to be warmer and more humid, while the South Island experiences cooler temperatures and more pronounced seasonal changes.
The best time to visit depends on your travel preferences:
Summer (December to February) is the most popular time to travel, offering warm temperatures, long daylight hours, and ideal conditions for beaches, road trips, and outdoor activities. This is also peak season, so popular destinations can be busier.
Autumn (March to May) is one of the most enjoyable times to visit, with mild weather, fewer crowds, and beautiful autumn colours, particularly in wine regions and rural landscapes. It is an excellent time for self-drive itineraries.
Winter (June to August) brings cooler temperatures and snow to alpine regions, making it ideal for skiing and snow sports, especially in the South Island. In the North Island, travel remains comfortable, though weather can be more changeable, and some destinations will be inaccessible in some parts of the south island.
Spring (September to November) offers blooming landscapes, waterfalls at their fullest, and fewer tourists. However, weather can be more unpredictable, with a mix of sunshine and occasional rain.
Due to New Zealand’s variable climate, it is recommended to pack layers and be prepared for changing conditions, especially when exploring alpine or coastal regions.
INTERNET & SIM CARDS
SIM cards are available almost everywhere, including directly at the airport upon arrival.
If you prefer not to buy a physical SIM card, I recommend using an eSIM from Airalo you’ll find more detailed information about this option in my Travel Guide Book including a 10% discount on their services.
