━━ THE JOURNEY

Why this country left a lasting impression on us

DSC_5172.jpg

Uzbekistan is unlike anywhere else, a place where the echoes of the Silk Road still whisper through its streets. From the dazzling mosaics of Samarkand to the sun-baked walls of Khiva and the timeless charm of Bukhara, every city feels like a living museum, yet full of life and color.

What makes Uzbekistan so unique is how seamlessly it bridges centuries, ancient caravanserais now filled with artisans, vibrant bazaars where silk, spices, and smiles are still traded as they were a thousand years ago. You don’t just visit history here, you feel it in the rhythm of daily life, in the smell of fresh bread baking in clay ovens, and in the soft “Salam” of every passerby.

Bukhara & Khiva captured our hearts with its golden light and quiet spirituality, walking through theses old cities feels like crossing into another time, each corner untouched, each shadow telling a story.

But what stays with us the most is not just the beauty or history, it’s the feeling of being part of a world that once connected East and West, a land where the Silk Road spirit still lives.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  • INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT:

International flights can be arranged upon request, subject to availability. A 10% service fee will apply to cover handling and booking costs.

  • VISA:

Visa requirements differ depending on your nationality. We strongly recommend verifying the latest entry regulations with official immigration authorities before you travel.

  • CASH/ATM:

Uzbekistan is gradually becoming more card-friendly, but cash remains essential for most everyday transactions.

In major cities like Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara, you can use credit or debit cards at higher-end hotels, restaurants, and some tourist-oriented shops. However, smaller guesthouses, local eateries, and markets still prefer cash. It’s also worth noting that international cards may not always work reliably, so it’s best to carry enough Uzbekistani Som (UZS) for daily expenses.

ATMs are increasingly available in city centers and airports, but they can occasionally run out of cash or only accept certain card networks. In rural areas and smaller towns like Khiva, cash is almost always required, so withdrawing enough in advance is recommended.

While Uzbekistan is modernizing quickly, travelers will find that a mix of both card and cash ensures a smooth experience across the country.

  • GUIDED TOURS:

Guided tours are typically conducted on a shared basis, meaning other travelers may join the same experience. This allows you to meet other guests and share the activity as part of a small group.

If a private tour is included or available as an upgrade, it will be clearly indicated in your itinerary or can be arranged upon request (subject to availability and additional cost).

  • CANCELLATION, REFUNDS & TRAVEL INSURANCE:

Once bookings have been confirmed, all cancellations will follow the terms and conditions of our local suppliers and service providers. Please note that many partners require advance payments to secure availability, and their refund policies may vary. We will always do our best to recover any refundable amounts wherever possible, but some services may be fully non-refundable depending on supplier conditions.

We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellations, medical emergencies, and unexpected changes. This ensures peace of mind and financial protection in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

TRAVEL GUIDE BOOK

You’ll receive a comprehensive Travel Guide Book in PDF format with all your confirmed bookings, key travel information, and a personalized day-by-day itinerary designed specifically for you.

The guide also includes practical tips to help your trip go smoothly, along with must-see locations, local eateries, hand-picked café recommendations we have personally tried and loved.

We will even connect you with reliable local taxi drivers, guides, and companies we have met during our own travels and fully trust.

WEATHER

The best time to visit Uzbekistan is from April to June and September to October, when the weather is pleasantly warm and ideal for exploring its historic cities and desert landscapes. During these months, temperatures are comfortable, skies are clear, and the light is perfect for photography, making it the best time to wander through the ancient streets of Khiva, Bukhara, and Samarkand.

Summer (July to August) can be extremely hot, especially in desert regions where temperatures often exceed 40°C (104°F). Sightseeing during midday can be challenging, though mornings and evenings remain manageable and lively.

Winter (December to February) brings colder weather, with temperatures dropping close to freezing, particularly at night. While not the peak tourist season, winter offers a quieter and more authentic experience, with fewer crowds and crisp air over the blue-tiled domes of Samarkand.

Overall, spring and autumn are the most pleasant times to experience Uzbekistan’s Silk Road heritage, vibrant bazaars, and timeless desert fortresses.

INTERNET & SIM CARDS

SIM cards are available almost everywhere, including directly at the airport upon arrival.

If you prefer not to buy a physical SIM card, I recommend using an eSIM from Airalo you’ll find more detailed information about this option in my Travel Guide Book including a 10% discount on their services.
