━━ THE JOURNEY
Why this country left a lasting impression on us

Before we visited Sri Lanka, we kept hearing the same things “It’s all beaches” “Too touristy” “Nothing new” But the moment we arrived, every assumption fell apart.
Sri Lanka is raw, green, and unbelievably diverse. One moment you’re on golden beaches, the next you’re riding a train through misty tea fields or standing beneath ancient temples rising from the jungle. It’s a small island with a big soul.
And the landscapes? They shift constantly: wild national parks full of elephants, dramatic viewpoints in Ella, markets exploding with color and spices, and sunsets that feel almost too perfect. Sri Lanka isn’t just a destination, it’s a gentle kind of magic. We came for nature and adventure, and found a place that stays with you long after you leave.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT:
International flights can be arranged upon request, subject to availability. A 10% service fee will apply to cover handling and booking costs.
VISA:
Visa requirements differ depending on your nationality. We strongly recommend verifying the latest entry regulations with official immigration authorities before you travel.
CASH/ATM:
ATMs are widely available in major cities like Colombo, Kandy, and Galle, and most accept international cards such as Visa and Mastercard. However, in smaller towns, rural areas, or remote regions, such as Nuwara Eliya, Ella, or the northern national parks - ATMs can be scarce or unreliable.
It’s best to carry enough cash for these areas, as withdrawals may not always be possible. Sri Lankan rupees (LKR) are preferred for most transactions, especially in local markets, small hotels, and eateries. Always use ATMs attached to major banks for better security and reliability.
DRIVER:
During a Sri Lanka tour, it’s best to have a dedicated driver to get you from one place to another. This allows you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey while your driver handles the roads, ensuring comfort and safety, especially on long or mountainous routes. This itinerary includes a private vehicle with a dedicated driver.
GUIDED TOURS:
Guided tours are typically conducted on a shared basis, meaning other travelers may join the same experience. This allows you to meet other guests and share the activity as part of a small group.
If a private tour is included or available as an upgrade, it will be clearly indicated in your itinerary or can be arranged upon request (subject to availability and additional cost).
CANCELLATION, REFUNDS & TRAVEL INSURANCE:
Once bookings have been confirmed, all cancellations will follow the terms and conditions of our local suppliers and service providers. Please note that many partners require advance payments to secure availability, and their refund policies may vary. We will always do our best to recover any refundable amounts wherever possible, but some services may be fully non-refundable depending on supplier conditions.
We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellations, medical emergencies, and unexpected changes. This ensures peace of mind and financial protection in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
TRAVEL GUIDE BOOK
You’ll receive a comprehensive Travel Guide Book in PDF format with all your confirmed bookings, key travel information, and a personalized day-by-day itinerary designed specifically for you.
The guide also includes practical tips to help your trip go smoothly, along with must-see locations, local eateries, hand-picked café recommendations we have personally tried and loved.
We will even connect you with reliable local taxi drivers, guides, and companies we have met during our own travels and fully trust.
WEATHER
The best time to visit Sri Lanka depends on the region, as the island experiences two different monsoon seasons. For the west and south coasts, as well as the hill country, the ideal months are December to March, when the weather is sunny, dry, and perfect for beaches, cultural sites, and mountain treks. During this period, cities like Colombo and Galle enjoy pleasant temperatures, while the hill country around Kandy and Nuwara Eliya is cool and lush.
The east coast, including Trincomalee and Passikudah, is best visited from April to September, when rainfall is minimal and the seas are calm, making it ideal for beaches and water activities.
Sri Lanka’s inter-monsoon periods (October-November and April) can bring short, heavy showers, but they also keep the landscapes green and vibrant. Overall, planning your trip according to the region ensures you enjoy the best weather for both cultural exploration and outdoor adventures across the island.
For this tour, the best months to visit are December to March. However, Sri Lanka can also be enjoyed at other times of the year, such as April to September, which may require a more tailored itinerary if you plan to travel during these months. In that case, the east coast with its beautiful beaches can be a fantastic alternative to the southern coast.
INTERNET & SIM CARDS
SIM cards are available almost everywhere, including directly at the airport upon arrival.
If you prefer not to buy a physical SIM card, I recommend using an eSIM from Airalo you’ll find more detailed information about this option in my Travel Guide Book including a 10% discount on their services.
